Disneyland Hotel restaurants and Character dining - Disneyland Paris
Introduction
There are two restaurants in the Disneyland Hotel and they're next door to each other on the 1st floor in the central part of the hotel.
Just in front of these two restaurants is the hotel's main lounge area which is where there's a Character Meet and Greet at breakfast during which at least one Character will be with an official photographer just in front of the large fire place. Photos taken here are available to view and buy in the hotel's shop within minutes of being taken.
You sometimes have to queue to meet the character but the queue is nowhere near as long as the queues you get in the parks.

Inventions Restaurant
Inventions is a large buffet restaurant and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with views overlooking the Disneyland Park.
The buffet in Inventions is excellent and there's always a good selection of hot and cold food.
At breakfast the array of food available is vast and it's equally so at lunch and supper time. There's a kids section with pizza, chicken dinosaurs, potato smiley faces and a little freezer with ice creams in along with plenty of other puddings, fruit, cookies, cakes and sweets.
The staff are excellent and will warm up baby food up for you or get you a plate of fries even if there's none on offer at the buffet. There's never a shortage of high chairs complete with Mickey Mouse ears.

The California Grill is an a la carte restaurant which is only open for dinner in the evening. Evening dinner in the California Grill is quite superb especially for a special occasion.

Regularly you see Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale (or Tic et Tac as they're know in French), Captain Hook, Pluto, Goofy, Tigger and Eeyore.
The Characters will muck about with each other (and you). They'll sit in your place and try to eat your food, hug the kids (and you), play peek-a-boo with the younger ones, get the kids to sit on their knee while you take a photo and sign autographs (buy a Disney autograph book and a chunky pen from any of the Disney shops).
Out of all the Character interactions I've had in any of the Disney resorts (including in Walt Disney World) those in the Inventions restaurant are consistenly the best.
